Okay, I’m going to start this post by bragging just a minute about my husband, Dale. He truly has a knack for cooking the most delicious meals on the grill. Whenever we host a BBQ our guest get super excited when they hear that Dale will be grilling. Everyone raves about his grilled ribs, brats, steaks, pork chops and hamburgers and usually, there are very few leftovers. In today’s post, I am sharing the secret to the best hamburgers.

The first secret to his recipe starts by purchasing a pound of 85% lean ground chuck. Ground chuck is great for making juicy burgers, mouth-watering meatloaf, Maid-Rites, and chili. Fresh ground chuck works best when making these delicious burgers. When I notice that there is a sale on ground chuck I’ll purchase several pounds, divide it into packages and freeze it for later use.
The second secret is to add wonderful Riley’s Salt-Free All Purpose Seasoning and Worcestershire Sauce to the ground chuck. It’s important to mix the seasonings and Worcestershire sauce well into the meat. You can allow the mixture to marinate overnight in the refrigerator if you’d like (this allows the flavors to blend together more), or you can go ahead and prepare the patties and grill them immediately.

**If you are looking to make gluten-free burgers then be sure to use gluten-free Worcestershire sauce.
Gluten Free Worcestershire Sauce
The third secret is to allow the meat to reach room temperature before throwing the burgers on the grill and preheat your grill to approximately 400 degrees F.
Grill the burgers for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, flipping them once.
Here are the ratios:
- 1 lb Ground Chuck
- 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce (*GF version: use gluten-free Worcestershire)
- 1 tsp Riley’s salt-free all-purpose seasoning
- (*GF version: use gluten-free hamburger buns, such as Udi’s brand)
For your next party, create a station with a variety of toppings such as:
- sliced tomatoes
- sliced onions
- BBQ sauce
- garlic mayonnaise
- sliced cucumbers
- broccoli sprouts
- sliced cheeses
