In today’s post, I’m sharing 9 Bacon-Inspired Foods For Father’s Day. Make one, or all of them, and let him decide which one is his favorite! If your children are older, they can certainly have a hand in creating these delicious and tasty recipes.
Therefore, let’s look at some finger-licking-good recipes with dad in mind!

Bacon-Wrapped Mushrooms Stuffed with Seasoned Cream Cheese
INGREDIENTS:
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 small clove of finely minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon finely minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 20 fresh Portabella mushrooms
- 1 pound sliced bacon, cut bacon slices in half
- Fresh parsley and/or cilantro
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat grill to medium heat, (temperature should be 325 degrees to 375 degrees F).
- Mix together the cream cheese, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. (Do not warm the cream cheese.)
- Rinse mushrooms and gently pat dry with paper towels, and scrape out the mushroom caps.
- Stuff the mushroom caps with the cheese mixture.
- Wrap each mushroom cap with a half slice of bacon and secure it with a wooden toothpick.*(Tip: soak toothpicks in water for 10 minutes to prevent them from burning.)
- Place the mushroom caps on the hot grill, cheese side down first.
- Cook until the bacon is golden brown and crispy and the cheese starts to drip.
- With grilling tongs, turn mushrooms over.
- Cook until the bacon is seared and crispy on this side too.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or cilantro leaves.
- Serve hot.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with foil.
- Place a wire cooling rack on top of the foil-lined baking sheet, and place mushrooms (cream cheese side up) onto a rack.
- Bake stuffed mushrooms for approximately 20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and golden brown.
- Place on a serving platter.
- Garnish, and serve hot.
Bacon-Wrapped Pineapple Chunks
INGREDIENTS:
- 12 bacon slices, cut in half
- 24 pineapple chunks
- Optional: brown sugar, sweet-n-sour sauce, or BBQ sauce
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Heat grill to medium heat, (temperature should be 325 degrees to 375 degrees F).
- Brush grilling tray with oil.
- Cut a fresh pineapple into bite-size chunks.
- Cut bacon slices in half.
- Optional: roll pineapple chunks in brown sugar, sweet-n-sour sauce, or BBQ sauce before wrapping with bacon.
- Wrap pineapple chunks with bacon, secure them with wooden grilling skewers.(Tip: soak skewers in water for 10 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.)
- Cook, turning every few minutes, or until bacon is cooked on all sides.
- Place on serving plater.
- Serve warm.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat oven to 400-degrees F.
- Line baking sheet with lightly greased, non-stick aluminum foil.
- Place bacon-wrapped pineapple chunks foil.
- Bake, turning occasionally, cook until bacon is crispy, about 20-25 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Bacon-Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Cheese
INGREDIENTS:
- 16 Large Medjool Dates, (non-pitted works best)
- 2 – 3 ounces mild feta cheese or blue cheese crumbles
- 8 slices of smoked, peppered bacon
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Heat grill to medium heat, (temperature should 325 – 375 degrees F).
- Using a grill mop, brush the grilling tray with oil.
- With a sharp knife, carefully make a small incision on one side of each date, remove and discard pit.
- Stuff each date with cheese, (do not over-stuff), gently squeeze each date shut.
- Individually wrap each date with a half slice of bacon.
- Secure with wooden toothpicks.
- Cook until bacon is crisp on all sides, remove from heat.
- Serve warm.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Place dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. Turn the dates over and continue baking for another 10 minutes, or until bacon is brown and crispy.
- When bacon is crisp on all sides, remove it from the oven. Cool for a few minutes.
- Place on a serving tray.
- Serve warm.
Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound Prosciutto, or thinly cut bacon
- 1 pound of fresh asparagus
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Seasoning salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Heat grill to medium-high heat, (temperature should be around 400 degrees).
- Brush grilling tray with oil.
- Rinse asparagus with cool water, blot dry with paper towels, and cut 1/4 inch off the very bottom of the stems.
- Lightly coat asparagus stalks with olive oil, a sprinkle of seasoning salt, and pepper.
- Wrap each stalk of asparagus with a piece of Prosciutto or a thin strip of bacon. (If asparagus is on the thinner side, wrap several stalks together.)
- Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, flip, then continue to cook another 5 to 8 minutes, or until Prosciutto is golden brown and crispy.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Place wrapped asparagus on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat.
- Bake for 15 minutes, turn and bake another 8 – 10 minutes, or until Prosciutto is golden brown.
- Remove from oven, place on a serving tray.
- Serve hot.
Bacon-Wrapped Roasted Sweet Corn
INGREDIENTS:
- 5 fresh ears of corn-on-the-cob
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 10 slices bacon
- Optional: Cajun seasoning, seasoning salt, or Pico de Gallo seasoning.
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat a grill to medium-high heat, (temperature should be around 400 degrees F).
- Line a baking sheet with nonstick foil, place corn on it.
- Drizzle melted butter over corn, roll corn to coat.
- Sprinkle corn with salt and pepper, and Cajun seasoning (optional).
- Wrap each ear of corn with one or two slices of bacon. (A big ear might need three pieces of bacon.)
- Roast the corn until it is hot, (rotate the corn about every 10 minutes). Cook corn until the bacon is crisp and the corn is tender for about 30 minutes.
- Serve with additional butter.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place bacon-wrapped corn on a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the corn is tender.
- Remove from oven and serve immediately.
- Serve with additional butter.
Bacon-Wrapped Roasted Potatoes
INGREDIENTS:
- Small new potatoes or Fingerling potatoes
- Seasoning salt or Mrs. Dash to taste
- 1 – 2 pounds of sliced smoked bacon, cut in half
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat grill to medium-low heat, (temperature should be 325 degrees to 375 degrees F).
- Wrap each potato with bacon and secure it with a wooden toothpick.
- Sprinkle with seasoning.
- Place on grill, turning every 5 – 10 minutes.
- Cook until bacon is crispy on all sides and potatoes are tender in the center.
- Serve with ketchup and/or sour cream and a sprinkle of chives.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are done in the middle and the bacon is crispy.
- Serve hot.
Bacon-Wrapped Mini Sausages
INGREDIENTS:
- 16-ounce package of mini sausages
- 1 pound sliced smoked bacon, each strip cut into 3 pieces
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat grill to medium heat, (temperature should be 325 degrees to 375 degrees F).
- In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, and white pepper, set aside.
- Wrap each sausage with bacon and secure it with a wooden toothpick.
- Cook sausages, turning occasionally until sausage is fully cooked and bacon is crispy.
- Place sausages evenly into the bottom of an aluminum foil baking pan, (try not to stack sausages), sprinkle each sausage with the brown sugar mixture.
- Cover pan with a piece of aluminum foil, place pan on the grill for 3 – 4 minutes, or until the brown sugar mixture begins to get sticky.
- Remove from heat.
- Serve.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Line baking sheet with foil.
- Cut each bacon slice into 3 pieces.
- Wrap each sausage with a bacon piece, overlap ends of bacon.
- Secure with a toothpick and place on baking sheet.
- Sprinkle sausages with a mixture of brown sugar, mustard, and pepper.
- Bake for 15 – 20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.
- Serve.
Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Strips
INGREDIENTS:
- 8 skinless, boneless chicken strips
- 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
- Italian seasoning, to taste
- 1 pound sliced bacon
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat grill to medium heat, (temperature should be 325 degrees to 375 degrees F).
- Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels.
- With a meat mallet, flatten each chicken strip, (just until each is chicken strip is flat enough to wrap around a mozzarella cheese stick).
- Sprinkle each chicken strip with Italian seasoning, place mozzarella stick in the center, roll-up chicken around cheese.
- Wrap each chicken strip with bacon, securing it with a wooden toothpick, if needed.
- Using a meat thermometer, cook chicken until it has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, the cheese starts to drip out and the bacon is crispy.
- Remove from heat, and serve hot.
- Serve with Ketchup, Ranch dressing, or your favorite BBQ sauce.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Follow the preparation instructions above.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, bake 45 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and bacon is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve.
Chocolate Covered Bacon with a Hint of Sea Salt
INGREDIENTS:
- 16 slices of bacon, cut thick is preferred
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 tsp shortening
- Sea salt, to taste
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat the oven to 400.
- Place bacon strips on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet.
- Bake 15 – 20 minutes.
- Line another baking sheet with layers of paper towels.
- Place cooked bacon on paper towels (do not stack bacon), and allow cooling.
- Next, place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
- Place semi-sweet chocolate and shortening in a microwave-safe mixing bowl.
- Heat chocolate (in 30-second intervals), just until melted, whisk until completely creamy and smooth, allow to cool for 3 minutes. *Read more about melting and tempering chocolate HERE!
- Dip each bacon slice in the chocolate, (make sure it’s completely coated), shake off excess chocolate, and place in a single layer onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle sea salt over chocolate-covered bacon strips.
- Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until chocolate has hardened.
- Place bacon on a serving tray, serve.
