Tasty Holiday Treat
No matter whether it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s the holidays are festive and fun. That means it’s good to have a dessert that matches the joyful holiday season. A Holiday Spice Cheesecake certainly fits the bill.
Decadent Dessert
This cheesecake crust is made with graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and a little granulated sugar. To make a gluten-free crust simply use gluten-free graham cracker crumbs.
The filling consists of cream cheese, both granulated and brown sugars, salt, eggs, sour cream, and pure vanilla extract. The spices consist of ground cinnamon and ground allspice.
Topping
To make the presentation even more stunning garnish each serving with a combination of heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar. Then top with a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
Directions
- Combine graham cracker crumbs, butter, and cinnamon until well blended. Press onto the bottom and 2-inches up the sides of a greased 9-inch springform pan; set aside.
- For the filling, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugars until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Stir in the sour cream, vanilla, cinnamon, allspice, and salt. Pour into crust. Place pan on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 55 – 65 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully run a knife around edge of pan to loosen; cool to room temperature and refrigerate overnight.
Garnish
For the topping, in a small bowl, beat cream until it begins to thicken. Add powdered sugar and beat until soft peaks form. Transfer to a pastry bag with a star tip. Garnish each individual serving of cheesecake with the whipped topping and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve immediately.
