12 Days of Christmas Crafts for Kids–Day 12

Thanks for sharing!

Christmas Craft Day 12! That means only 1 day until Christmas!

This year we are counting down to Christmas by creating a new Christmas craft each day! Now don’t panic and get overwhelmed on me! I tried to keep it simple!

All of these Christmas crafts are geared toward younger kids. My 6 year old and 3 year old LOVED these!

In order for a craft to make this list it had to meet several criteria:

  1. FUN
  2. Easy!
  3. Not too messy or time consuming
  4. Require only normal house hold items (also it cannot be expensive)
  5. Is not food (Christmas food is great! I just didn’t want to cook desserts/junk food 12 days in a row)

I did not list any age requirements or which steps parent should help with. I left that for each parent to decided based on their own children and their ages.

Day 12: Make an Elf Hat

This hat will only take a few minutes to make but your kids will wear it all day!

Supplies:

  • Construction paper
  • Ribbon (or could use more construction paper, paint, or markers)
  • Glue or Tape

Directions:

  • Tape two pieces of construction paper together to make one really long piece.
  • Cut out the largest half circle that you can.
  • Roll the half circle into a cone to make your hat.
  • Glue a ribbon around the hat. Or paint/ decorate as your child wishes.

Make it meaningful: Since elves are helpful creatures, tell your children that once they have their hat on their head they are going to pretend to be elves and be as helpful as they can. Since it is so close to Christmas, it is the perfect day to have a little helper around the house. They can help you wrap presents for family members, cook, pick up the house for company, or help out a smaller sibling.
