Christmas Craft Day 7! That means only 6 days until Christmas!
This year we are counting down to Christmas by creating a new Christmas craft each day! Now don’t panic and get overwhelmed with me! I tried to keep it simple!
All of these Christmas crafts are geared toward younger kids. My 6-year-old and 3 years old LOVED these!
In order for a craft to make this list it had to meet several criteria:
- FUN
- Easy!
- Not too messy or time-consuming
- Require only normal household items (also it cannot be expensive)
- Is not food (Christmas food is great! I just didn’t want to cook desserts/junk food 12 days in a row)
I did not list any age requirements or which steps parents should help with. I left that for each parent to decide based on their own children and their ages.
Day 7:
Make Christmas Cards
Today we are keeping it simple! Kids (at least my kids) LOVE making cards!
Supplies:
- Construction Paper
- Markers, crayons, colored pencils, paint, etc.
- Glitter, stickers, pipe cleaners, other things for decorations
- Pictures of your family and children (optional)
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Scissors
Directions:
- Give your children the supplies and let them have at it!
Okay, so my directions aren’t all that detailed! In my home, if I try to micromanage the making of a card for someone my kids are not going to be happy! I just let them be independent in this field and help spell any words for their Christmas message.
Make it meaningful: Let your kids give their cards to family members or take your kids to a nursing home to pass out their homemade cards. Talk to them about spreading joy to others.
