Christmas Craft Day 5! That means only 8 days until Christmas!
This year we are counting down to Christmas by creating a new Christmas craft each day! Now don’t panic and get overwhelmed with me! I tried to keep it simple!
In order for a craft to make this list it had to meet several criteria:
- FUN
- Easy!
- Not too messy or time-consuming
- Require only normal household items (also it cannot be expensive)
- Is not food (Christmas food is great! I just didn’t want to cook desserts/junk food 12 days in a row)
I did not list any age requirements or which steps parents should help with. I left that for each parent to decide based on their own children and their ages.
Day 5: Turn your Door into a Snowman
Pick a door, any door! Front, bedroom, closet, bathroom, pantry. I’m guessing your child would love to have their bedroom door turned into a snowman!
Supplies:
- Black construction paper
- Orange construction paper
- Scarf or construction paper to make a scarf
- Poster putty (if the paper will be stuck to a wood door) or tape (safe for windows)
Directions:
- Cut circles out of the black paper for eyes, mouth, and buttons
- Cut carrot from orange paper
- Use poster putty to secure pieces to the door
Don’t use tape because when you take your snowman down it could take part of the door with it. Poster puddy will not remove any part of the door when you take it down.
Make it meaningful: You and your children can discuss why snowmen always smile. Maybe the snowman is happy to be created. You can talk about our creator, God. We should always be joyful because God created us and loves us. You can look up some Bible verses about joy for example Galatians 5:22 (fruit of the spirit), Psalm 95:1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
