Christmas Craft Day 8! That means only 5 days until Christmas! 

This year we are counting down to Christmas by creating a new Christmas craft each day! Now don’t panic and get overwhelmed with me! I tried to keep it simple!   

All of these Christmas crafts are geared toward younger kids. My 6-year-old and 3 years old LOVED these! 

In order for a craft to make this list it had to meet several criteria: 

1. FUN
2. Easy!
3. Not too messy or time-consuming 
4. Require only normal house hold items (also it cannot be expensive)
5. Is not food (Christmas food is great! I just didn’t want to cook desserts/junk food 12 days in a row) 

I did not list any age requirements or which steps parents should help with. I left that for each parent to decide based on their own children and their ages. 

Day 8: Make a Nativity Scene from Popsicle Sticks

This nativity scene is simple and easy to create. 

Supplies: 

• Popsicle sticks
• Markers
• Hot Glue
• Gold or yellow pipe cleaner
• brown yarn 
• pen
• White paint

Directions:

• Break three Popsicle sticks in half.
• Using the pen, draw eyes on your people: Mary and Joseph get one eye (since it’s a profile view), Jesus and the angel get two eyes. 
• Wrap Jesus in the brown yarn (swaddling clothes). 
• Use markers to color in the clothes for Joseph and Mary
• Paint the angel’s clothes white
• Using hot glue assemble the stable
• Glue the yellow pipe cleaner to the angle and form a circle for the halo. 
• Glue the people to the stable

Make it meaningful: Discuss all the characters and roles they played. Read Luke 2. Read the birth of Jesus from a children’s bible.
