Tater Tot Nachos (A.K.A. Tachos) is my husband and my go-to late-night snack. You know, the junk food you eat after the kids go to bed. Please don’t judge us. These are so unhealthy, but so dang delicious!
We first had a version of these when we took a weekend get-away and had these as an appetizer. Since then we have made these frequently (like I said, late at night while we watch TV).
You might have guessed by now, but these are just nachos, but with tater tots instead of nacho chips. You can customize the toppings by adding any and all of your favorite nacho toppings.
What makes these so good is that they are quite literally smothered in white Mexican cheese, like that addicting white Mexican queso at every Mexican restaurant! Yeah, amazing! Looking at my pictures, you cannot see the queso very well because the tater tots absorbed all the cheese after I drizzled it on. But imagine biting into one of those tater tots and having it full of white Mexican queso…because that is the situation!
These can be your main dish, a snack, or an appetizer! We easily make ours gluten-free by using gluten-free tater tots (Ore-Ida) and gluten-free ground sausage (Aldi).

- Any other nacho toppings you like such as, green onion, cilantro, jalapeños, lettuce, etc.
