My kitchen is filled with the most wonderful aroma every time I make a batch of homemade biscuits. In addition to these copycat Hardee’s biscuits, we also love Cream Cheese Biscuits and Savory Gluten-Free Cheddar Biscuits.

These biscuits are perfect when served with butter, honey, fruit jam, or apple butter. Additionally, they make a delicious breakfast when paired with ham, egg, and cheese, just like Hardee’s makes them!

The initial step in crafting copycat Hardee’s biscuits entails utilizing a pastry cutter to combine flour and shortening. Continuing cutting in the shortening until the mixture resembles a coarse grain texture.

Next, incorporate baking powder and sugar to the flour mixture. Now add buttermilk and stir until the mixture comes together in a dough stage.

Okay, it’s time to get your biscuits ready to cut. Sprinkle a light layer of flour onto a clean, dry working surface and place dough on top. Gently knead the dough a few times until it resembles a soft baby’s bottom.

Lightly sprinkle the top of the dough ball with flour. Using a rolling pin, gently roll the dough out to a thickness of 1/2 inch. (If your rolling pin sticks a little simply add an additional sprinkle of flour to the surface.)

I like to use a 2-3/4 inch pastry cutter when cutting out my copycat Hardee’s biscuits. However, you can use a smaller size cutter. NOTE: Using smaller sized biscuit cutters will yield more biscuits and the baking time may vary.

Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place the biscuits on the cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

Bake the Hardee’s biscuits for 16 to 20 minutes. While the biscuits are still warm, use a pastry brush to brush the top of each biscuit with butter.

As previously mentioned, these Hardee’s biscuits are delicious served warm with butter.

We also like to serve Hardee’s biscuits with honey, jam, or apple butter.
