This Nutella banana bread is a family favorite! It is moist, chocolaty, and delicious, and you won’t be able to stop eating it. My dad is constantly asking me to make it, and I can see why!

Whenever I buy Nutella, one thing I often make for breakfast is toast with Nutella and sliced bananas. While I ate my banana-Nutella-toast, I couldn’t help but think: “What if the Nutella and bananas were baked into the bread?” So I got to work with half a jar of Nutella and my favorite banana bread recipe and when it was done, my family devoured two loaves of banana bread in less than 48 hours! Honestly, I can’t blame them!

Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour (use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option)
- 2 tsp xanthan gum (omit if using regular flour or if flour blend already includes it)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream (plain Greek yogurt also works)
- 1 cup Nutella
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325 F and grease two bread pans
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar
- In a separate bowl, mix bananas, eggs, and vanilla
- Add banana mixture to the butter and sugar and mix until combined
- Add the flour and sour cream to the wet ingredients, a little at a time, alternating between the two.
- Add the baking soda, xanthan gum, and salt and mix until a smooth batter forms
- Divide half of the batter between the two 1.5 qt bread pans
- Add 1/4 cup of Nutella to each pan
- Take a knife or a chopstick and swirl the Nutella until the desired swirls appear
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter and Nutella for a second layer
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs on it
- Let cool for 10 minutes in pans, then transfer to cooling rack and cool for another 30 minutes
- Slice and devour!
