Swimming Pools

Above-ground swimming pools may be the right choice for your backyard because they are far less expensive than in-ground pools — sometimes more than 75% cheaper!

Some families might see an above-ground pool as a perfect way to learn how to maintain a pool before making a bigger investment in an in-ground pool.

Inflatable and kids pool are going to be the smallest and least expensive pool to purchase. These pools are available for less than $100. Obviously, by the name, these pools are perfect for little children. They are quick to set up and take down. They do not require chemicals or even very much water. These pools are easy to move and do not require a large space. Some pools come with built-in inflatable slides and sprinklers that a water hose can be attached to for constant water flow.

A ring swimming pool is made of heavy-duty vinyl. There is an inflatable ring around the top of the pool that floats as the pool is filled with water. These pools have a quick set up time. This type of pool is wider at the bottom to provide greater stability. These do come in a variety of sizes. A ring swimming pool is more portable and can easily be moved when empty if needed. These pools are less expensive than a frame swimming pool.

A steel wall above-ground swimming pool is yet another type of framed pool. This is the most durable type of above-ground swimming pool. These pools do cost more than other types of above-ground pools but you can expect them last longer.

Metal frame swimming pools are durable and can usually be left up all year round. These pools can last for many years. Depending on the size of the pool you may need to make a level area in your yard with sand before setting up your pool.

While some above-ground swimming pools will work with a pool heater it might be more practical to get a solar cover for your pool. A solar cover covers your pool and uses heat from the sun to heat the water. It also works to trap heat in your pool to keep the water warm overnight. This would be worth owning if you live in an area that has some cool summer days or has cooler nighttime temperatures.

Whether you have a custom-built deck next to your swimming pool or not, you will need a pool ladder. While this might seem obvious, most pools do not come with a ladder or a way to enter and exit the pool.

You will also want to invest in pool cleaning tools. This is in addition to whatever type of filter and chemicals you decide to use in your pool. A pool cleaner will remove larger debris, such as leaves, from your pool that a filter cannot remove.

If you choose to leave your above-ground swimming pool up all year round then you will need a winter cover to protect your pool during those months when it is not in use.

Have fun this summer in your very own above-ground swimming pool!

Enjoy!

Anna
